The Compliance Manager ensures our company adheres to legal standards and our in house policies. They will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of our operation as well as provide guidance on compliance matters. This includes compliance with security personnel licensing requirements, I-9 compliance and data privacy compliance. The goal of the Compliance Manager is to preserve the company`s and our staff`s integrity in all our endeavours.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Human Resources team to monitor the enforcement of standards and regulations.
• Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
• Maintain and ensure the integrity of personnel files and the workforce management system.
• Oversee and conduct employee on-boarding including policy orientation, benefits orientation, and ensuring the completion of required employment documents.
• Conduct staff coaching and discipline meetings for violations of company policy.
• Oversee and execute company policy to ensure unemployment cost control.
• Attend staff and strategy meetings to stay connected and advised of organizational need.
• Responsible for compliance with State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and rules for the administration of the private detective, private alarm, private security, fingerprint vendor, and locksmith Acts and any changes; keep management team informed regarding current issues, regulations, etc.
• Stay current on federal, state and local CBA guidelines relative to our services.
• Provide guidance, coaching and counseling in the areas of labor law, local labor organizations and collective bargaining agreements, job/role content, and performance management.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor`s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or a related field. At least three (3) years of HR Management experience working in an industry with a remote hourly workforce.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Ability to obtain a valid PERC. PHR certification preferred
Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Other Qualifications: Required skills include strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, creative problem solving and conflict management, strong computer skills and ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Experience with applicant tracking systems preferred. Proven hands-on labor relations experience a must. A working knowledge of local labor laws and collective bargaining agreements. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Travel: Ability to travel to branch locations in suburban Chicago and northwest Indiana. Less than 10% travel.
Physical Demands: Standard office environment.
