Responsibilities:
Working in a creative and fast-paced environment, the Director of Human Resources will be committed to developing and delivering meaningful initiatives and services that enable our employees to thrive every day. You will work hand-in-hand with the VP of People, Culture, and Change to maximize the effectiveness of the HR department and to propel the evolution of USAC through the engagement of our people and the cultivation of a culture of excellence. Among others, your responsibilities will include the following:
• Managing and overseeing the core HR activities across the employee life cycle
• Working with the VP of People, Culture, and Change and across the HR team to implement strategic programs, including but not limited to succession planning, performance management, training and development, employee relations and retention, and cultural engagement
• Collaborating effectively and engendering confidence with staff and leaders at multiple levels of the organization
• Improving manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, implementing potential solutions, and coaching and counseling as needed
• Serving as a change agent and acting as an advocate for managers and employees,
• Complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by remaining up to date on current and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
• Reporting on and improving Human Capital metrics and reporting, ensuring the accuracy and utility of data presented
• Undertaking other responsibilities, as needed, to support the implementation of USAC`s strategic goals
About You:
The successful candidate will excel at operating in a diverse and fluid environment, and will be crucial for ensuring that USAC is able to attract, develop, and retain employees who are mission driven and want to contribute to a culture of success.
• You have 8 to 10 years of experience working in a professional environment performing duties similar to those outlined above
• You possess a Bachelor`s degree from an accredited college and/or university
• You have 3 to 5 years of project management experience, including scoping timelines/project plans, leading cross-functional teams, and owning deliverables
• You have excellent leadership, facilitation, critical thinking, analytical, and data gathering skills
• You have the ability to make decisions with little need for direction and to function effectively as a team-oriented, self-starter working across cross-functional lines
• You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a direct, tactful style and good listening skills
• You are comfortable working under deadlines and producing key deliverables
• SPHR is a plus
The following skills are desired:
• You have a strong understanding of, and commitment to, continuous improvement and the people side of change
• You have experience building and maintaining relationships in a non- or not-for-profit environment
