SRI International is a nonprofit, independent research center serving government and industry. Our research and innovations have led to new industries and products that impact people`s lives every day—from the computer mouse and interactive computing to medical ultrasound, cancer drugs, and much more. SRI moves R&D from the laboratory to the marketplace to create high value and real innovation. And the platforms we build today are designed to meet tomorrow`s needs. For example, an artificial intelligence project for DARPA led to the development of Siri for Apple`s iPhone.
The American Red Cross is a historic organization that works every day to prevent and alleviate human suffering. In other words, we help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. We provide domestic disaster relief, blood collection and distribution services, preparedness information, health and safety training, service to the armed forces, and international services. Getting involved with the Red Cross leads to many possibilities. Here are some ways to give and get involved with the Red Cross: Become an Employee: You can make a difference every day. Donate: You have the power to make a difference in someone`s life. All you have to do is make a contribution. Every donation helps provide services to those in need. Give Blood: You can help prevent-life threatening reactions of patients. Donor blood must be compatible with the recipient`s blood, and it is very likely that a donor within the same racial/ethnic group will be a better match.

The Industry Training Authority (ITA) leads and coordinates British Columbia`s skilled trades system. ITA works with employers, employees, industry, labour, training providers and government to issue credentials, manage apprenticeships, set program standards and increase opportunities in the trades. ITA is also a key collaborator in the B.C.`s Skills for Jobs Blueprint, which sets out a plan for re-engineering our education and training system to support our growing and changing economy, and to help British Columbians take full advantage of the opportunities presented by these changes.
