Job Summary:
The Human Resources Advisor serves as a member of the HR team committed to providing high quality and confidential employee relations support for the company. The incumbent is responsible for a variety of activities including overseeing the disciplinary process, conducting investigations, creating various reports, answering unemployment inquiries, overseeing the review of exit questionnaire information, and supporting the HR Manager with various projects. Additionally, some HR Generalist duties will also be assigned to this position not directly related to employee relations.
Essential Functions:

• Advises employees, supervisors, or management regarding confidential or private personnel issues or interpersonal problems.
• Administers disciplinary process, providing guidance to managers on wording and level of severity.
• Assists with termination process, including consulting with management regarding termination decisions.
• Serves as an advisor to management regarding policy and compliance issues and performance management.
• Assist in development of overall HR procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency.
• Creates, processes and maintains documentation related to employee inquiries or investigations.
• Works closely with employment attorneys for advice for highly sensitive employee situations.
• Develops and maintains employee staffing and overtime reports.
• Updates management on employee-related trends.
• Responsible for exit survey process including reviewing responses from separating team members, recommending action if necessary, and communicating responses to all parties involved and upper management.
• Responsible for unemployment claim responses; involves answering unemployment claim inquiries for separation details as well as participating in unemployment phone hearings.
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
• Human Resources experience or other relevant experience: 3 years
• PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
• Bachelor`s degree required
• Candidate must have excellent problem solving, relationship building, and communications skills and the ability to confidentially address human resources issues.
• Must be organized, results and detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Considerable knowledge of human resources policies, practices, procedures, federal and state employment laws and compliance and non-discrimination laws and regulations.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be a self-starter and an independent thinker.
• Critical thinking as it relates to HR Issues
