Under the administrative direction of the Prospect Hospital Segment CFO and regional Chief Executive Officers of the East Coast facilities, the CFO will have primary accountability for generating insights and creating transparency into historical, current and forecasted financial performance, including ensuring that processes are in place to monitor and achieve the hospital`s EBITDA and growth targets, and processes for financial accountability. The CFO is responsible for the oversight of financial reporting for the company, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, accounts payable and payroll functions. This role is also an interactive role with Finance Operations which has oversight and responsibility over productivity management, revenue cycle, and materials management. The successful candidate will have significant e experience in financial reporting in addition to some experience in directly managing revenue cycle, expenses, and managing and monitoring staffing and labor costs for a hospital or healthcare system.
Responsibilities
• Managerial responsibilities for general accounting, budgeting, government reimbursement including supplemental government programs such as DSH and QAF.
• Accurate timely financial reporting & the safeguarding of assets for the hospitals and organization. Participates as a member of executive management in the planning & execution of strategic & tactical initiatives.
• Review and approves all contracts entered into by the company.
• Monitors all financial agreements entered into by the company with various financing companies. Maintains compliance with restrictive covenants of the financing documents and informs the Chief Executive Officer/Corporate when those covenants cannot be maintained.
• Maintains the records of the company in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and prepares periodic financial reports for the Chief Executive Officer, Corporate, and other members of management.
• Communicates the financial performance of the organization to the management team of the hospital as well as Corporate on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Ensure that all regulatory filings (CMS, IRS, TDH, etc.) are completed and filed in a timely fashion in coordination with Corporate Government Programs.
• Coordinates the day to day Operations of the Revenue Cycle and Materials Management Departments of the company with Financial Operations.
• Reviews and maintains oversight of the accounts payable/payroll and treasury functions for the region; maintaining cash projections on a weekly basis to ensure financial viability of the company.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor`s Degree
• 8+ Years of Hospital Management Experience
• Experience in leadership with strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of success with financial reporting and hospital operational financial management.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master`s Degree
• 10+ years of experience with a large health system
• Certified Public Accountant
