Overview: Ipswitch is looking to add a Chief Marketing Officer to our executive team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CMO is a critical, strategic role at Ipswitch with a Digital First focus, owning Demand Generation, Product Marketing and Corporate Communications. As a key member of the executive team, the CMO will contribute broadly to the strategic and tactical success of our IT Management software business. The CMO will develop a global marketing strategy while working collaboratively with the senior management team to articulate and execute the Company`s positioning and messaging as Ipswitch looks to continue its growth.
Business Function: Executive Team (Marketing)
Responsibilities:
The right CMO will have an entrepreneurial attitude and impressive background in developing marketing strategies that sit alongside a company`s business plan and ultimately drive revenue growth.
• Lead comprehensive marketing and communications programs including demand generation, digital/social strategies. Product marketing, public relations, original content development,
• Recruit, motivate, organize, manage, train, and lead the marketing, creative, and communications staff.
• Analyze marketing strategy successes and quickly make changes when necessary.
• Network at industry events and pitch meetings with potential collaborators.
• Be a cross functional, senior level strategist and top brand ambassador.
• Provide direction on the design, development, and implementation of product and tech.
• The Chief Marketing Officer will partner closely with sales, product management, and R&D to create a strong and collaborative partnership that will ensure success in platform roadmap, competitive positioning, market awareness and sales execution.
Required Experience:
• Has led the Marketing function for small to midsized technology companies in high growth mode; ideally reporting into the CEO and a past career path through DemandGen (Digital).
• Has created a `digital first` marketing group and best practices, focused on customer acquisition and creating a successful customer-centric strategy (journey AND experience/loyalty program).
• Has leveraged the use of leading edge Marketing technology to enable outstanding service internally and externally
• Experience leading and building an innovative corporate identity and branding effort.
• Experiences in global program/product launch, demand generation, and marketing and field communications.
• Had led Marketing function in a global environment (direct AND indirect sales model) leading significant growth and revenue achievement, ideally with low friction, high velocity product mix.
• Experience with digital market/lead generation techniques including email, social media, chat, SEM/SEO and blogs.
• History of retaining, developing, motivating and mentoring a marketing team capable of setting and meeting ambitious goals.
• Have a “do whatever it takes” mindset. Possess a strong work ethic, the willingness to go the extra mile, a “nothing is beneath me” attitude.
• Superb analytical skills and creative mindset
