Europ Assistance North America is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join as a member of the executive team with financial oversight for the legal entities of North America. The CFO will report to the CEO and will provide executive leadership and vision to the company and financial functions. He/She will be in charge of the company`s financial and accounting activities and will provide the strategic leadership and direction to ensure the development of relevant business information, accurate accounting systems, and timely financial plans and reports. Further, this person will ensure that correct financial and risk management controls are in place so that assets are protected. He/She will drive innovation in all areas of the financial function, ensuring that the company is taking full advantage of the latest tools in the accounting, finance and risk management areas. Additionally, he/she will work closely with the parent company to assist in setting group wide goals and targets, establish group wide financial best practices and support M&A/acquisition activity.
In the CFO`s responsibilities will be accounting and finance, taxes, risk management, internal audit, capital markets, treasury, acquisitions, actuarial and pricing. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the executive management team and will contribute in all aspects of the strategic leadership of the organization.
Specific requirements will include but not be limited to the following:
• • Ensure that the appropriate financial and management systems are in place while continuing to build the financial and accounting team to be a performance-driven, sophisticated team.
• Provide financial and• economic data and interpret it with respect to the direct impact on business decision-making, operating methodologies and strategies, for both the regional as well as for the parent company.
• • Continually review accounting policies and procedures to make sure that the company is complying with GAAP, IFRS, and statutory accounting and with federal and state tax jurisdictions and with other regulations.
• Partner with members of the executive team to develop strategic and financial plans and priorities.•
• Work with the Board of Directors regarding all financial activities.•
• • Study long-range economic trends and project company prospects for future growth, opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new services or product areas.
• Provide leadership and management• for the corporation`s risk management and further development of enterprise risk management tools and processes.
Qualifications
• • A minimum of 15 years of overall accounting and finance experience including key roles with responsibility for finance, accounting, taxes, actuarial, risk management, internal audit, capital markets, treasury and acquisitions.
• A minimum of three years of experience in an• executive level position or five years of senior experience with an international accounting consulting firm .Experience with and knowledge of the insurance industry is required.
• Evidence of strong• participation in the strategic planning process working within a senior management team in his/her previous organization is essential.
• • An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree and appropriate professional designations such as CPA, MBA or FSA are being strongly preferred.

This person must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to quickly build relationships of trust and mutual respect.
