The Human Resources Director is responsible for providing leadership to the assigned operational HR department. The position will work cooperatively with program management to provide human resources support in the areas of recruiting, hiring and training, and employee relations, specifically:
• Effectively hire, train, supervise and manage the human resources and training staff in the department, assuring an effective and efficiently performing human resources department.
• Provide ongoing coaching and development of employees.
• Assist with the strategic planning to ensure the company is well-positioned for growth and HR needs.
• Assure human resources functions comply with regulatory standards and the organization`s policies and are performed effectively and efficiently.
• Oversee the implementation of effective employee recruitment strategies in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical assistance regarding employee relations issues to program management as requested.
• Oversee the effective management of workers` compensation and unemployment claims.
• Ensure the development and application of a professional human resources orientation for all new staff.
• Ensure affirmative action compliance, if applicable.
• The Human Resources Director will have direct communication and dialogue with the corporate human resources department.
• Overnight travel may be required.
REQUIREMENTS:
•
Must have 8-10 years broad-based exempt-level human resources generalist experience.
• Experience in employee relations, recruiting and workers` compensation claims management.
• Bachelor`s degree in a related field is required, and PHR certification preferred.
• Must have supervisory experience and excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
