The CTO fulfills a key leadership role within North America`s preeminent trade printer; a rapidly growing, fast paced company that has revolutionized the print industry by focusing on software and technology as key drivers of growth and change. The position provides leadership in the ongoing development and implementation of the software and technology infrastructure necessary to support multiple currently successful and new e-commerce platforms.
The position is responsible for overseeing the organization`s software development and technology infrastructure with a focus on e-commerce (static and mobile) platforms, production software, data management, network design, application program interfaces, and systems integration.
The candidate must possess effective leadership skills and strong technical competencies that will be used to grow and motivate high performing, fast paced software development and technology teams.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Applies proven leadership methodologies to effectively build and sustain a motivated, high performing team.
• Leads the technology strategy for the organization that supports strong business alignment, increased profitability, and provides a sound, flexible foundation for the future.
• Manages outsourced resources accountable for timelines, projects, quality and more.
• Oversees infrastructure and system integration efforts.
• Initiates current system documentation efforts for business continuity planning purposes.
• Drives corporate competitive advantage through the innovative application of technologies to achieve business strategy.
• Plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company`s technology strategy, processes, and information technology roadmap.
• Effectively translates and communicates technical strategies between the business and the technology department.
• Monitors department`s performance to ensure goals and objectives are achieved or exceeded on a consistent basis.
• Works in a consultative fashion with other senior management as an advisor of technologies that may improve company efficiency or effectiveness.
Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
• Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other technology-related field. Masters degree is preferred
• 5+ years of leadership experience in software development and e-commerce platform technology -- including website development, production automation, networking, applications management and support.
• Demonstrated experience in building, coordinating and leading multi-project software development teams.
• Knowledge of latest technologies including hardware, software, and cyber security systems.
• Familiarity with Payment Card Industry compliance requirements
• Effective strategic technology planning, execution and policy development skills
• Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
• Leadership ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams or projects and influence senior level management and key stakeholders
• Experience with multi-business systems integrations.
• Experience in evaluating and integrating M&A candidates is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to scale resources effectively in fast paced, rapid growth environment.
